Agency Again

I have been behind on reading my own research.

Which is to say, I wrote a post about questions I have about the foundations of what it means to be an agent, and how we determine what the players in a game theoretic game are, etc., etc.

Since then (or starting slightly before that post really) I have been discussing, clarifying, and where possible starting to verify mathematically, all of these ideas with Claude.

The issues of code review have descended upon me this time, and Claude has written quite a lot of material and referenced quite a lot of mathematics, economics, computer science, philosophy, and neuroscience research, which I have not been able to keep up with reading.

While I do intend to get through it all, rewrite everything in my own words, and present it as formal research, that’s going to take a long time. And while I don’t fully trust either the words or the code that Claude writes without doing a deep reading myself, Claude is able to present all of the material for easy consumption, with references and levels of confidence ranging from low to written up in compiling (though unreviewed) lean code.

Since I’m behind, I did have Claude present the primers and reading lists nicely for me, and while it isn’t the end state I’d like to present, it does already exist, so I would like to share it for anyone who is interested, and isn’t intimidated by the technical content.

So, here are the Player Primers.
